Fitting & Care - How to Fit Your Bike Cover
How to Fit Your Cover
Standard Bikes (Hybrid, Road, MTB)
Rule of thumb: Fit from the front towards the back.
Start at the handlebars and finish at the rear wheel for a smooth, even fit.
Use this for your standard bike cover.
Steps
-
Hold the cover with the logo at the handlebars.
-
Drape it over the bars and front wheel.
-
Pull it gently back over the saddle and rear wheel.
-
Check the fabric sits around the pedals and chainring.
-
Adjust the hem with the toggle or elastic to secure.
-
Use the lock-through slot (if fitted) to attach your lock.
Cargo Bikes
Rule of thumb: Fit from the back towards the front.
Cargo bikes have larger frames and boxes, so this method avoids snagging.
Use your cargo bike cover and follow these steps:
Steps
-
Start at the rear rack or wheel.
-
Pull the cover forward over the cargo box or bin.
-
Ensure the handlebars and brake levers sit comfortably inside.
-
Check that any straps or toggles sit under the box edges.
-
Tighten the hem or straps evenly along the base.
-
Use the lock slot if fitted for extra security.
Longtail Bikes
Rule of thumb: Fit from the back towards the front.
Longtail bikes have extended racks and sometimes child seats.
Use your longtail bike cover and follow these steps:
Steps
-
Begin at the tail end. Drape the cover over the rear rack and accessories.
-
Move forward along the frame, covering the saddle and top tube.
-
Pull the front of the cover over the handlebars and front wheel.
-
Make sure child seats or panniers are covered completely.
-
Tighten the hem or toggle cord to finish.
-
Use lock-through points to keep it secure outdoors.
Tips for E-Bikes
-
Allow the motor and battery to cool before fitting any cover.
-
Remove or shade displays if still warm from use.
-
Route any charging cables before you fit the cover.
Care & Maintenance
Keep your BikeParka in good shape with simple care.
Cleaning
-
Wipe with a soft cloth or sponge using mild soap and warm water.
-
Avoid bleach, solvent cleaners or fabric softeners.
-
Air-dry only — never machine wash, tumble dry or iron.
Storage
-
Let the cover dry fully before folding.
-
Store it in its pouch or Stuff Sac.
-
Avoid keeping it tightly packed when damp.
Weather & UV
-
Designed for daily outdoor use in all seasons.
-
Includes a UV coating protectant on the cover for longevity.
-
Avoiding direct sunlight will increase the longevity of your cover, or any outdoor fabric. If you use the cover daily in strong sunlight, consider refreshing the fabric UV coating with available products for camping tents.
Repairs
-
Small scuffs or abrasions can be patched with tent repair tape or duct tape.
-
Check for sharp edges on racks, bar ends or pedals before fitting.
Fit Checks & Troubleshooting
-
Too tight at the bars? Start from the correct end (front for standard, back for cargo/longtail).
-
Snagging on pedals or racks? Lift slightly and let the fabric settle.
-
Pooling water? Adjust the tension or angle of the cover so rain runs off.
-
Wind lift? Use the lock-through points or the drawcord hem to secure.
-
Difficult to fit around child seats? Choose the correct XL, or Longtail WS model for better height clearance.

How do I stop wind uplift?
Tighten the Elasticated Toggle System and, if outdoors, thread your lock through the cover and frame.
Is it safe for indoor use as well?
