Tern Bike Covers — GSD, HSD & Quick Haul

Tern’s compact cargo bikes are built for family life, and because they carry so much of it, they usually live outside or by the front door. The BikeParka Longtail range is shaped for their low, long rear decks. If you ride a GSD, our Tern GSD bike cover and fitting guide goes through the generations, the child-seat and Captain’s Chair setups, the accessory cases and what to measure.

The rule across the range is the usual one: Longtail without child seats, Longtail WS with them — and since most GSDs carry seats or a Clubhouse, the WS is the usual pick there.

Child seats, baskets, canopies, crates and other accessories can change the fit. For an unusual setup, send us your exact bike model and accessories and we’ll check before you order.

All BikeParka covers are made from waterproof, seam-sealed ripstop fabric and include lock-through openings, allowing the cover and bike to be secured together. Adjustable toggles help draw the cover in around the bike on windy days, and each cover packs into its own Stuff Sac.

How to fit a longtail cover

The BikeParka Longtail and Longtail WS are fitted from the back of the bike towards the front. Start by pulling the rear of the cover over the rear deck, rack or child seats. Work the cover forward along the bike, then pull the front over the handlebars. Finally, adjust the toggles to draw the cover in around the bike.

Tern cover questions

Which cover fits a Tern GSD?

Most GSDs carry child seats or a Captain’s Chair, so the Longtail WS is the usual fit; a GSD with no seats fitted takes the standard Longtail. Our Tern GSD bike cover guide covers the generations, the Clubhouse and Storm Box cases, measuring and fitting in full.

Which cover fits a Tern HSD?

The Longtail without child seats, or the Longtail WS with a seat fitted. At 172cm the HSD sits comfortably within both. The HSD takes one rear rack-mounted child seat rather than a captain’s chair.

Which cover fits the Tern Quick Haul and Quick Haul Long?

Both are around standard city-bike length, so the Longtail fits, or the Longtail WS with child seats or a taller rear setup. The Quick Haul Long has the longer passenger tail of the two.

Which cover fits a Tern Orox?

The Orox is a big-wheeled all-terrain bike rather than a low-deck longtail, so it takes the XL / MTB cover rather than a longtail one. Its wide bars rule out the narrower city covers, and there is only a little length to spare, so take off any front rack or accessory that adds length before covering.
