BikeParka

Apollo Bike Covers — Belmont, Excelle & Metro

Apollo is the everyday bike range sold through Halfords — the sort of bike bought for commuting, weekend rides and getting the kids out. They are practical rather than precious, which is exactly why they end up left outside: leaning on a garden fence, chained to a railing outside a block of flats, or squeezed beside the bins.

Every Apollo model in our fit database takes the XL / MTB. It is the wider of our two covers, and it gives these bikes room to spare.

Which BikeParka fits your Apollo?

Bike type Models Recommended cover
Mountain, hybrid and everyday bikes Belmont, Excelle, Transfer, Evade, Trace, Metro, Phaze XL / MTB

Accessories change the shape of a bike more than the frame does. Panniers, a basket, a rack, a top box or a rear child seat all add bulk, and mudguards add length at both ends. If you are unsure whether yours will fit under the cover, send us your exact bike model and accessories and we'll check before you order.

All BikeParka covers are made from waterproof, seam-sealed ripstop fabric, and they're PFAS- and PFC-free. Adjustable toggles draw the cover in around the bike on windy days, and each one packs into its own Stuff Sac. The URBAN has built-in lock-through panels so cover and bike can be secured together; the STASH and XL / MTB have brass eyelets at the hem for threading a cable lock.

Which size cover?

It comes down to handlebar width. The XL / MTB takes handlebars up to 100cm, so it is the one for mountain bikes, trekking bikes, bigger frames, bulkier e-bikes, or a standard bike with a rear child seat — and it is the cover we recommend right across the Apollo range. The STASH and the URBAN are the same size and the same fit as each other, and they suit standard bikes with handlebars up to 63cm: road, gravel, hybrid, commuter, city and standard e-bikes. If you are choosing between those two, the difference is locking: the URBAN has built-in lock-through panels, while the STASH has brass eyelets at the hem.

Apollo cover questions

Which cover fits an Apollo Belmont?

The XL / MTB. It is cut for handlebars up to 100cm, so there is plenty of room for the Belmont and for anything you have fitted to it.

Is there a cover for the Apollo Excelle?

Yes, the XL / MTB. It is the cover we recommend for every Apollo in our fit database, the Excelle included.

What about the Apollo Metro?

The Metro takes the XL / MTB as well. If your Metro carries a rack, a basket or a rear child seat, the extra room in the XL / MTB is worth having.
