Pendleton Bike Covers — Somerby, Ashwell & Brooke

Pendleton is known for everyday, heritage-styled bikes sold through Halfords — upright bikes made for short, ordinary journeys rather than for racing. They get used for the school run, the station and the shops, which means they rarely make it up a flight of stairs at the end of the day. They end up by the back door, down the side of the house, in a shared hallway or under a carport, where the rain finds them.

Across the Pendleton range it is the upright handlebars that decide the cover, and they push every model in the same direction: our XL / MTB. That is the one we recommend for the whole range, from the Somerby through to the Drake.

Which BikeParka fits your Pendleton?

Accessories change the shape a cover has to go over. Baskets, front and rear racks, panniers left on the bike, child seats, mirrors and bar-end extensions all add width or height, and a bike with a basket and a rear rack fitted is a different job from the same bike bare. If you are close to a size limit, or you are not sure, send us your exact bike model and accessories and we'll check before you order.

All BikeParka covers are made from waterproof, seam-sealed ripstop fabric, and they're PFAS- and PFC-free. Adjustable toggles draw the cover in around the bike on windy days, and each one packs into its own Stuff Sac. The URBAN has built-in lock-through panels so cover and bike can be secured together; the STASH and XL / MTB have brass eyelets at the hem for threading a cable lock.

Which size cover?

Handlebar width is the measurement that matters most, so measure yours end to end before you choose. The STASH and the URBAN are the same size and fit standard bikes with handlebars up to 63cm — they differ only in how they lock, not in how they fit. The XL / MTB takes handlebars up to 100cm and is cut for mountain bikes, trekking bikes, bigger frames and bulkier e-bikes, which is where the Pendleton range sits. We also make a Kids / BMX cover for children's bikes and BMX up to 140cm long, 120cm high with handlebars up to 55cm, but it is not intended for small adult or folding bikes.

Which cover fits a Pendleton Somerby?

The XL / MTB. It takes handlebars up to 100cm, which comfortably covers the upright bars the Somerby is built around, and it leaves room for a basket or rack if you have one fitted.

Is the Somerby Electric any different?

No — it takes the XL / MTB as well. That cover is cut with bulkier e-bikes in mind, so the extra frame and battery bulk is not a problem.

Would the STASH or URBAN fit an Ashwell or a Brooke?

The STASH and URBAN are the same size as each other and fit standard bikes with handlebars up to 63cm. Our fit notes put the whole Pendleton range on the XL / MTB, so that is what we would recommend for the Ashwell and the Brooke. If it is the locking you are after, the URBAN is the cover with built-in lock-through panels, while the XL / MTB has brass eyelets at the hem so you can thread a cable lock through instead.
