Dawes Bike Covers — Galaxy, Karakum & Discovery

Dawes is a long-standing British name in touring and everyday bikes — the Galaxy in particular is a bike people buy to ride loaded, and to keep for years. Bikes like that are working bikes: they do the commute, the shopping run and the summer tour, and they are rarely carried upstairs at the end of a day.

So they get parked outside instead — in the yard, beside the shed, in a passageway or locked to a rack. The touring and road models take the STASH or the URBAN, which are the same size as one another; the hybrid and mountain models take the XL / MTB.

Which BikeParka fits your Dawes?

Accessories change the shape a cover has to go over. Front and rear racks, panniers left on the bike, bar bags, mudguards, dynamo lights, mirrors and bar-end extensions all add width or height, and a Galaxy in full touring trim is a different job from a bare one. If you are close to a size limit, or you are not sure, send us your exact bike model and accessories and we'll check before you order.

All BikeParka covers are made from waterproof, seam-sealed ripstop fabric, and they're PFAS- and PFC-free. Adjustable toggles draw the cover in around the bike on windy days, and each one packs into its own Stuff Sac. The URBAN has built-in lock-through panels so cover and bike can be secured together; the STASH and XL / MTB have brass eyelets at the hem for threading a cable lock.

Which size cover?

Handlebar width is the measurement that matters most, so measure yours end to end before you choose. The STASH and the URBAN are the same size and fit standard bikes with handlebars up to 63cm — they differ in how they lock, not in how they fit, so choose between them on that basis. The XL / MTB takes handlebars up to 100cm and is cut for mountain bikes, trekking bikes, bigger frames and bulkier e-bikes, which is where the Discovery and Sonoran sit. We also make a Kids / BMX cover for children's bikes and BMX up to 140cm long, 120cm high with handlebars up to 55cm, though it is not intended for small adult or folding bikes.

Which cover fits a Dawes Galaxy?

The STASH or the URBAN. They are the same size and both fit standard bikes with handlebars up to 63cm, which covers the Galaxy. Choose the URBAN if you want the built-in lock-through panels so cover and bike can be secured together, or the STASH if you would rather thread a cable lock through the brass eyelets at the hem.

Is the Karakum the same fit as the Galaxy?

Yes — the Karakum and the Century both sit on the STASH or URBAN alongside the Galaxy.

Why does the Discovery take a different cover?

The Discovery is a wider-barred bike, so it takes the XL / MTB, which handles handlebars up to 100cm and has the room for bigger frames. The Sonoran takes the same cover.
